Afia Introduces Authentic, Family Blend Spices at Costco

FEBRUARY 18, 2026 — AUSTIN — Afia, a modern Mediterranean food company, today announced that Costco locations across five Western states are introducing its family recipe blends of Mediterranean spices.

Free of preservatives and fillers, the spices are sold in two-packs of Shawarma and Kebab Mediterranean Spice Blends for $9.99.

Afia’s Shawarma is a bright red blend of 10 spices that includes paprika, red pepper and cinnamon. The star of Middle Eastern cuisine, it’s both complex and savory with a kick of heat. The Kebab blend combines the classic seven spices, or sabaa baharat, used for meat dishes and includes strong notes of coriander, cloves and cinnamon, and elevates meats, vegetables and even desserts from ordinary to inspired.

“We’re so appreciative to Costco for its commitment to supporting family-run, women-owned businesses,” said Afia Co-founder Farrah Moussallati Sibai. “We’re excited for them to debut our spice line at retail and offer authentic options made with the highest quality ingredients for families.”

Afia’s spices are packaged in lined paper tubes that keep them fresh as well as cut down on plastic waste, so you can feel good about every sprinkle.

The company’s full line of frozen falafel, kibbeh and meals, as well as its array of spices, are now available in more than 4,000 stores nationwide, with the company earning recognition through programs like the Chobani Incubator.

The 2-pack of spices at launch will be available at select Costco stores in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Southern California.
