Welcome to the Master Afia Cooking Guide! This page will provide you with detailed cooking instructions for all of Afia meals and appetizers found in stores, including our frozen falafel, frozen kibbeh, and variety of frozen and refrigerated meals. 

Whether you're a seasoned chef or kitchen novice, these easy-to-follow steps and helpful "chef's tips" will help you enjoy the authentic flavors of Afia in the comfort of your home - and adapt to your supplies!

IMPORTANT: For all products, cook thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. Individual appliances vary; cooking times may need adjusting to cook thoroughly.

Traditional Afia Falafel

Falafel

AIR FRYER

Place 5 Falafel into the air fryer. Heat at 375°F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

OVEN

Heat a traditional oven or toaster oven to 425°F. Place 5 Falafel on a baking sheet 1 inch apart on center rack of oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

MICROWAVE

Place 3 falafel on a plate and microwave on high for 90 seconds. Add 30 seconds for every additional falafel. You can microwave our falafel, but it won't be as crunchy! This method is best if you plan to use in sandwich or crumbled atop a salad or bowl.

STOVE TOP

Thaw falafel in the fridge overnight to ensure even cooking. Pan fry over medium-high heat in an oiled pan with the lid on for 3 minutes each side. Refrigerated falafel should be used within 7 days.

FRyER

Thaw falafel in the fridge overnight to ensure even cooking. Fry at 375°F for 2 mins. Refrigerated falafel should be used within 7 days.

*Our falafel is optimized for reheating in an oven or air fryer.

Traditional Afia Falafel

Kibbeh

AIR FRYER

Place 4 Kibbeh into the air fryer. Heat at 400°F for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

OVEN

Heat traditional oven or toaster to 425°F. Place 4 Kibbeh on a baking sheet 1 inch apart on center rack of oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Fryer

We recommend thawing the kibbeh in the fridge overnight to ensure even cooking. Fry at 375°F for 2 minutes. Refrigerated kibbeh should be used within 3 days. 

*Our Kibbeh is optimized for reheating in an oven or air fryer.

Sweet Potato & Kale Afia Falafel Bowl

Vent film by peeling corner or puncturing film. Microwave on high for 3½ - 4½ minutes, and mix. 
Caution! Bowl will be hot, beware of steam.

Pan fry over medium-high heat in an oiled pan with the lid on for 3 minutes each side. Remove falafel, and add the rest of the bowl to pan, cover with lid and cook for an additional 6 minutes.

CHEF's TIPS

  • For maximum crunch, take the falafel out of the bowl before cooking and air fry them!
  • Option to crumble the falafel after heating and mix into the bowl for maximum falafel in each bite!

Vent film by peeling corner or puncturing film, cook 2½ minutes. Remove film, stir, and cook additional 60-90 seconds.
Caution! Bowl will be hot, beware of steam.

Empty meal into lightly oiled pan. Cover, cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stir after 5 minutes. Uncover, cook 1 additional minute.

CHEF's TIP

Stir and let sit for 1 minute before enjoying your first bite - yes, we know it will be hard to do!

OVEN

Empty container into oven safe dish. Cover with foil, bake for 25 minutes at 375°F. Remove foil, cook uncovered additional 5 minutes.
DO NOT PUT PAPER BOWL IN THE OVEN
